Pressostat

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Pressostat

Post by splitpin »

All,
could anyone give me the pin outs for the pressostat for a 1999 d9 110 HDi.
I just need to fool the unit into thinking that there is pressure in the system.
I have just replaced the A/C relay in the bsi and now need to check that the system works now.
I recently had a new condensor fitted by my local garage and they informed me that the pressostat was leaking so would need changing, but there was an electrical fault in the system as well. I hope I have now solved the issues, but just need to check before I send it back to have the pressostat changed and the system re-gassed.
Cheers, Graham.

Graham,

Not sure it is a switch.

On my, (2002) car, it's a pressure transducer - you can monitor the gas pressure via the diagnostics port. The a/c management is handled by the engine ecu, so it can disable a/c if the engine's close to overheating, also means there's only one system trying to control the radiator fan(s).

I've an idea that earlier cars may have a pressure switch - I'll check the diagram in the Haynes book this evening, (I think it resembles earlier D9's more closely than later cars).

That's the gubbins.

I'm just not sure if it's a switch, a pressure sensor, or maybe both. :?

Thats the one.
In the Haynes manual for the dw12 engine it shows it as 2 normally Closed switches (High Pressure??) and 1 Normally Open Switch (Low Pressure??). Is that the same one used on the Dw10 engine or are they model specific???
Cheers,
Graham.

Idon't think they are model, (or engine), specific, but I do think they're age specific.

I'll try to check out whether they're all the same part no. on ServiceBox........(when I get home).
