Anyone can list all activable BSI features?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Anyone can list all activable BSI features?

Post by OdinEidolon »

Hi all, could anyone list all the possible features activable via PP2000. There seem to be lots of nice stuff, such as auto locking (after 30 secs the car has been opened), various lighting, locking when at certain speed, windows working after shutdown, deactivate annoying beeps...

Some screenshot of the possible oprions would be great!

I can give you some pictures of mine, but it surely doesn't have that much to enable, despite having a menu where it lists all the things that the car have or not, which i think is curious, because since it can say what the car have and actually can't program it ...

that'd be good, just to see all the possibilities that were listed on top models.

mine isn't top model ( didn't had all the stuff, but it can be added like the trip computer that was enabled) but surely have the same stuff as the GTX version i think, since it is based on the GTX model it have all the wiring in place apart the navigation and the amp wires, have sunroof and all the bits for the cruise too, .. well i'll just give to you the pics.

that's what is possible to enable on my estate

Then there is some stuff that can be programmed into the display and the radio too, but unfortunately the clone was crap and was always saying programming defective ...

thanks very much! Are you sure there isn't anything else? Someone said there was also some other stuff, such as "key in" beeping or the option to keep electric windows powered for a minute after shutdown, or auto locking at certain speed. Probably they are present in higher spec car tho.

Entering the BSI at the dealer's is 40€ alone... do normal mechanics have PP2000?

If there is i didn't searched in the right spot, PP2000 have so many possibilities, but maybe that configurations are only present in a newer version of the BSI ( which i read on someone's topic that peugeot can update an old BSI but it will cost a lot of money, because it will involve the re-configuration of the whole thing ...), my 406 despite being a 2000 May, the version of the BSI is the first one that came out on July of 1999 ...

edit:

Well, my mechanic have a crapy clone that doesn't like the engine ECU ( it can't enter it ) and some other stuff ...

Went into another mechanic and he's clone couldn't enter the engine ECU too.
Maybe this is due to the fact that most of the clones doesn't work with peugeot 307 which means... the 307 have the same ecu then 406 then it will not work with 406 ...

My dealer told me the BSI upgrade is 40€, but since the car is old he doesn't suggest it.

If they don't suggest it and in the end why they do it ? Why they don't suggest it ? it's the same car... with the same equipment ...well i think in vacations when i have time i'll try to get to the dealer and ask if they do it and at what prices ...

The big thing about the upgrade, is that it will have functions that the older versions didn't ... like the auto locking of the doors at X km/h and some other ...

Probably they fear something may not work well after the upgrade... you know informatic stuff, changing a working machine is always a risk. But then they could always revert the changes back?
Who knows. I'll ask my local dealer (the one I spoke with was another dealer) when I'll have my next service (1-2 months) and see what we can work out.

I hope there is always the possibility to revert the change....

I don't see why not, it's only software...

i said i turned off the key in ignition buzzer its back on after i programmed the sat nav to work but ill take pics when i come to turn it off again.
one great option would be if it could set all the windows to shut if you hold the lock button in.

sat nav on 406 is so old, not worth the trouble ...i would like to have a 407 right now, they're amazing

I would love some pics of your pp2000... i do reckon that it may very well have that options on your 406 since its from 2002 and mine is from 2000
