Electric window switch lighting

Hi all from Wellington New Zealand
My wife has (so by nature its my problem!) a small problem on her 1998 Auto...
when she leaves it parked up for a time (10-14 days) the battery goes flat and the only thing I can find is the LED's that light all the electric window switches are permanently lit.
We live in New Zealand and keeping our 406 (called Penny! ) on the road can be an expensive option but as my wife loves the car I have no choice.... so any repairs I can do work for me, as Mechanic costs for European cars are around the $90 an hour mark!
I have thought about just removing all the LED's!
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Tony & Welcome

I don't have a similar car, so can't be sure, but some of the fuses can be inserted in two positions - one where it takes a feed via the ignition and one where it's on permanently, (at least you can with the cigar lighter for example).

sorry but ithink any car battery Wouid go flat if the car was left parked, for 10-14 days,

Never had that problem ever before tho... car used to sit for 2 weeks at a time and start no problem.
But that doesnt get away from the fact that the window switch lights are on permanently...
I have a 73 Beetle that starts no problem after sitting for months at a time and a Volvo V70 that starts no problem 2 weeks apart.
Car batteries can and should last for much longer than 10 days. there is no load on them (alarm is miniscule)
id get your battery checked .....!.....
