rear headrest removal

how do I remove the rear headrests in my 1997 2.1td estate? ive taken out the clips and they lift so far but no further.
any ideas? ive got a load of junk to take to the tip soon so need all the room I can get.

Is there not a button on the side of the bit in the top of the seat? That's how my saloon ones and the ones in the back of the 306 estate come out. If there isn't a button, then push them down a bit and lift them up quickly, but be careful not to whack yourself in the face with the headrest when you do this!

There should be a bit you press in on one of the collars (black bit that doesn't move with the headrest) - push this in and shove the headrest up, it should keep on going and land in the back somewhere...

I have nothing like that Steve, one large slot where the two pronged clip goes, and on the other side of the coller two small holes, i might try prodding these about with a couple of thin nails or something,see what happens...

cracked it! you PUSH THE CLIPS IN! and out the headrest pops, doh! :oops:
