Re: Sat nav screen Wanted please
Spotted that one a few minutes ago. Would that just plug into an older pre-multiplex & work or does it need PP2000 fettling? Would also need to change the front panel for black ones as I'm not really into the grey trim.

Re: Sat nav screen Wanted please
yup youd need a remote, but the screen is harder to get.
I had a remote and drive i sold there the other day for £60
sorry about that.
i know on my post multiplex car it needed a 10 second bit of programming on the pp2000 to work with the cd changer in the boot, as for pre multiplex cars, mind the breaker car, i once bought a type c display off a member on here (unfortunatley i couldnt fix it) but i plugged it into the old car and it still lit up ok, the appliances on post and pre multiplex cars like radios and mfds seem to work on both cars, as ive swapped bits round between other and they work just not the speedo, and the leccy window block as the pre multiplex one in a multiplex car wont let the rear windows function.
i would have bought that type c dislpay only the seller hasnt got a picture of it working and at the moment i have 5 type b displays and 4 radios in my shed so its a bit full right now, but i asked the seller what condition its in so heres the reply:
"Hi.
I would not be able to confirm this as I have had this removed by my mechanic who has stripped most of the car by now.
It should be working though as he did claim to have tested all the mechanics and electrics before stripping the car. I will test it again before despatching as we try not to send out faulty parts.
Regards"

The sat-nav screen is operated by the remote and the buttons on the ends of the COM2000 stalks (mainly the one on the right to cycle the four trip computer 'pages').
Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Re: Sat nav screen Wanted please
now you have got it, if you loose the remote your in trouble, there is only the infared port to do adjustments, you could program a learning remote to hold the sat nav remotes functions into it but it would look a bit odd having a huge one for all sitting in the car.

Re: Sat nav screen Wanted please
To be honest, I'd rather not have a sat nav remote sitting in the car. Think I'd rather just stick with what I have in there. Besides which, with insurance on 406s being the way it is, next £200 fault that needs fixing will be it's goodbye present in favour of another Zafira...

Now, I just looked on ebay, and saw a 2005 Zafira GSi - so a 2000cc 16v Turbo with over 200BHP on offer, compared to a 2000cc diesel with only 110bhp on offer
I've just tried money supermarket, and the Zafira would also be worth 4 times more money than the 406
I can get insured on the Zafira GSi for £32 a month!!!!!!
Yes, £32 a month for a car with nearly twice the power and 4 times the value for almost half as much to insure
JOKE JOKE JOKE JOKE JOKE JOKE
mmmm, sad to say it, but a 406 might not be the replacement for the current plodmobile

Re: Sat nav screen Wanted please
c'mon with fuel prices they way they are what you spend in insurance will be widely balanced by fuel consumption numbers, even if you get a 2,2HDi. You see my average below, it's double what that poor slow car with big engine does, and mind mine has a faulty injector right now.
And... A zafira with 200hp! Nonsense.

Re: Sat nav screen Wanted please
Don't think Dave's considering replacing the 406 with one (I could be wrong though), more highlighting how ridiculous the insurance on a 406 actually is that it costs more to insure a diesel family car than a 2l turbo one.dogslife wrote:Now, IMHO it's torque, wot matters - & by some strange coincidence 'Daddy Cool's' Zafira GSi produces exactly the same as a std HDi 110Sunday Times wrote:

I'd love a GSI Zaf, but the fuel consumption combined with the initial purchase price would make it hard to justify me getting one. I've checked out a few DTi Elegance ones that don't seem too expensive at the mo, but the ideal solution would be to find a European 2.2DTi (they didn't sell them over here) that was RHD. GSi spec, diesel economy & more grunt than the standard DTi.

You'll have hard time finding an european RHD mate.. only you United Kingdomers are made the wrong way around!waue1978 wrote:Don't think Dave's considering replacing the 406 with one (I could be wrong though), more highlighting how ridiculous the insurance on a 406 actually is that it costs more to insure a diesel family car than a 2l turbo one.dogslife wrote:Now, IMHO it's torque, wot matters - & by some strange coincidence 'Daddy Cool's' Zafira GSi produces exactly the same as a std HDi 110Sunday Times wrote:
