Re: Another bargain!
Now that is a proper 7 seater. Look at the amount of boot space there still would be with all of the seats up. Put all the seats up in a Galaxy or Zafira & you start needing roofboxes!

Nice! Another rare car dissappearing.
They had an XUD option, so HDi transplant should theoretically be possible? Though the wiring may be a bit different, might need to wire up a lamp for anti-pollution faults.

Re: Another bargain!
even better, a 2.2 defapped in a 505.
hold on though, how about the 2.7 v6 into a 505, should be easier with jags having the longtitudinal gearbox ready for RWD, as opposed to a hdi which would probably need an adaptor plate which is something that makes mechanics do that odd inhalation sound and shake their heads.

Re: Another bargain!
My neighbour's parents had one. In beige.
They always seemed to be beige or brown.
Frumpy looking things, a driving equivalent of a tabbard, a tartan headscarf and a pull-along shopping trolley.
Although it was also quite interesting in that the seats folded flat, creating a double bed. Very practical.
Those doors were used on all sorts of cars, which is why they looked strange in proportion on the Maxi.
Austin 3 litre was probably the most elegant, though there was a Bentley proposal:

Re: Another bargain!
thanks for that, and the gun cabinet in the back great job
although me and my dad fixed a landie before we knew suzuki made decent jeeps and it was a terrible thing, 4x4 didnt work, the dash was made of a plastic that cracked, and it was quite rusty in the important places, at the moment im more tempted to get one of these than a clean suzuki:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-HILUX-PICK ... 944wt_1348
but probably something more discreet:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Hilux-Sing ... 500wt_1363
it might be a maestro but i think some were actually quite good, for the spec you get this is a good car:

prone for rust, carb fails and the sloppy gears,
Never had the Vp, but ibought a MG on paid silly money for it but it was mint, £2 k for the car and another £2k to insure it,
that was my 1st car iever paid good money for,
only had it 2mths and ihad to crash it to avoid hitting a woman running out with a pram,
loved the car because of its digi dash, the ladys voice it had tho telling me it was low on fuel was anoying tho

it was the 1st ever talking car so ibelieve, other than kit (night rider )
Re: Another bargain!
The Meastro in the link is afake ithink,
its got bits of Vp but ithink its one thats been built out of bits from a Vp.
the dashboard isnt Vp ,
