NOOOOOB - you just have to be patient with them, but I know what you mean. They are a royal pain to get back on, if they slip off!Bailes1992 wrote:Problem is the bolt can slide through the head.
So as soon as theres enough room behind the bolt it will slip through and you will spend another 10 seconds trying to get it back in the ratchet. Pain in the arse, but they are good for when you can't get enough room for a tidy socket sat in there.

Re: Ratchet Spanners
i got my ratchet spanners today, despite yodel delevery.
i used them to set the door shut line on my jeep a bit better, and they seem to be able to start the bolt moving and the ratchet bits good and handy, the solid open spanner head on the other side seems like a good thing to protect the mechanism when tightening the stuff very tight, but they feel good enough quality, although id prefer teng stuff their ratchet spanner set is £120, and these were £40:

I rather missed my halford pro set of ratchet spanners doing the engine mount today.
I dont use them often, but when i do, they are bloody handy! Especially when you get them for £40

Re: Ratchet Spanners
i used these again today, to take off the spare wheel holder on the tailgate, great job. the socket wouldnt fit and these would, got them in and it was a doddle.
I see some with a switch for loosening and tightening, but its a bit mad since you can just turn it over to do that.
I was talking about the price of these and the teng tool ones, the £120 isnt as bad when you consider their great warranty.

Re: Ratchet Spanners
I've got the gearwrench set and they are awesome when working on the 205...
The set i've got has the switch for direction on the i think it's 12 or 13 and larger sized ones and you have to turn around the smaller ones to get the correct direction, which if your not paying attention can be a pain.

Re: Ratchet Spanners
Depends on the work you are doing!
My halford are switch over, you have to think about it, but at work we have some with a switch and have different sized heads on the other side of the spanner.....
