At first, i would check the vacuum line between the wastegate actuator solenoid and the wastegate actuator. Also the wastegate actuator may be faulty.

hey im not sure to open a newtopic or just reply here..anyways as i wrote i got the same symptoms with the turbo
but now i hear sounds from the engine.. anyone an idea whats wrong (the sound is actually a lot lower than on the video :? )
any suggestions id be thankfull :?:

Deffo crank pully - sounds like its in an advanced state of failure :shock:
99 HDi Estate 110 fast approaching 200K. edit: now 215K

*BUMP*! Hey guys. I have the exact same problem stated on this post and I'm running out of clues about what can be causing this issue...my Pug 406 2.0 HDI 110hp (174k miles) behaves completely normal, no engine noises, no engine lights on, nothing, it runs smooth as usual but the turbo does not kick in until 3000 RPM on every single gear! This is so frustrating.... I've disconected the MAF plug in order to figure if it was the culprit, but the car behaved in the exact same way...the EGR valve has been cleaned up recently, the turbo pipes have been checked out for any possible leaks... this is so frustrating! I need your help from previous experiences guys, as I cannot get any help from people I know and from any mechanics as they all point out to the same possible sources (MAF and EGR) :(
