I trust Ade will know best what to use. I've had bad experiences with all the companies over there, worst was a desktop computer completely smashed.

all my parcels arrive either with royal mail or parcel force, royal mails ok if its the regular postman he puts the parcel in the garage (as it says on the front door when im expecting something) with parcel force you need to be there for them to give you a pda and attempt a signature which is just a squiggly line. Otherwise you dont get the parcel.

Its impossible to write anything legible on those PDAs.

Thats why certain delivery companies are getting away with faking delivery signatures, and throwing your parcels over your 6 foot fence

i dont want to have to sign anything, the garage is open and really easy to put the parcel in, cant they do that. Its not practical to be sitting in the house all day waiting for them.

I get stuff sent to work, but when I got the door sent someone else signed for it cause I was occupied, when I returned to the desk there was a car door but I noticed that the corners were all bent in and dented. Unfortunately as it was signed for I couldn't refuse delivery so it started a whole big drama.
When I changed it for a Honda I made sure the bodywork was mostly straight and rust-free. Couldn't be bothered with getting panels anymore.

We used to have to take stuff up to the DHL depot at EMA on behalf of Siemens
Whilst waiting to be unloaded, it was shocking to watch how they used to chuck stuff onto the conveyor belt even when marked fragile, plus I seen them putting stuff through the xray machine when they were labels on them saying computer data - under no circumstances put through xray

X Rays shouldn't affect hard drives because the medium itself it contained within the casing.

No affect whatsoever on optical media such as CDs and DVDs.

Sure laptops go through X Ray machines at airports when you are herded like cattle and have to prove your innocence to get into a tube with wings and engines.

Last time I went through security there was someone asking if anyone had a laptop in their bag, I did, they made me take it out of the bag and put it though the machine seperately

Nah X-rays will do nothing to a computer, the only sensible thing is the hard drive but then that's almost encolosed in a faraday cage. Not that that protects the hard drive much from X-rays (frequency is too high) but then it shouldn't really destroy the data is the HD is off.

Yep. I remember when I was coming back from working in Italy and had 2 laptops (long story involving me picking up where the previous guy left off and working across 2 subnets...)
I hear that some stricter security personnel ask you to turn the machine on to make sure it is actually a laptop?
