Ouch - looks like a bit of blow back as well! Glad to see that its all sorted - did you replace the plugs as well?

As for Merthyr - Saw this UK cop show on it? Does half the town not have a license? :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

Not sorted unfortunately Joel, after changing the coil pack, plugs and leads and fiddling with various other bits, all to no avail, we gave up and took it to the garage.

Merthyr's a lovely town, but it's got some very poor areas like most places have, it's just funny that my quick tour for Sam yesterday took in most of them   . To be fair to the place, it's a very densely populated area built on the mining and steel industries that have long since departed. I know that's true of a lot of towns, but unlike most places, the County Borough of Merthyr Tydfil is such a small unitary authority that is doesn't encompass any affluent areas to offset the poor areas, therefore we always end up topping the charts in statistics like unemployment, sickness, poverty, minor crime etc., it's no worse than lots of other places in reality, and considerably better than some I could mention. I'm sure Sam will agree that my bit is actually very nice

I've never even driven on the A470 before! Was an awesome little road  It was pretty clear all the way up, got stuck behind some woman doing 65 in the outside lane who took ages to move over, other than that was nice up till the first roundabout where I got stuck in traffic. On the way back, no traffic but quite a few more cars about, it was 5pm afterall  I don't even think it took me 40 mins to get home! And I don't do more than 80 so not like I was flying everywhere

And I'm getting impressed with this Focus, other than that little clunk that I was on about and my juddery clutch she's lovely and is munching the miles quite well :cheesy:

They're quite rare the saloons anyway. My Dad had an old Ghia 1.8 TDDi back in 1999-2000ish and I think thats the only Saloon I've ever been in.

Thought the saloons looked nice. Little less... tortoise shaped (no offence!).

Ireland also gets the Astra saloon which is a nice looking car, sold in Brazil as the new Vectra too.

They also get some interesting alternatives such as the Renault Fluence (will only be sold in UK as EV), Corolla saloon and the Nissan Tiida (Nissan in the UK dont sell a proper Focus-size hatch, ignoring the Leaf EV).

I do like the saloons, they look far more sensible than my shape. If I was to buy another Focus my shape I would get a saloon or an estate, but I much prefer the 406

I can't be doing with saloons, purely on the inferior versatility. Given the option I'll always have a hatchback or, preferably, an estate. 8)
