Have you heard anything from Ford? I'm convinced it's a sensor or a wiring fault. Sounded just like mine when the Map sensor went tits up

Ford had a recall for newish Focuses to change the wiring to stop them bursting into flames.

They also have a pickup for some pickups to change the fuel tank straps that may corrode when used on winter salted roads

Bursting into flames sounds like the best option just now...

I saw that about the pickups, it was quite recent news. Hold on, some pickups? 1.2 million, according to the BBC

Wouldn't be surprised if a Fraud warranty was 30,000 miles.

Thats how long they seem to last before big bills start.

That's got to cover the extra insurance for an exec for a year or two, hasn't it?

Would buy me a nice 100k+ Exec that :(
But then again I am expecting to buy a new car and have to spend a bit on it regardless.
I'm going to try get a HDi 110 SE or Exec on about 80-100k and send it straight into my Dads mate to have a good look over the car and change all the belts along with a good service. Also want to replace the front discs and pads for Mintex and fit some goodrich brake lines and might get all the fluid changed while I'm at it.
Then keep a little to one side for any problems that may arise and just keep it well maintained.

Insurance is going to be around £400 more than my Focus a year but just going to bite the bullet and just get what I want.
I was goiing to get a HDi90 Rapier which is only ~£100 a year more than the Focus and fit an SE interior and get it remapped but it's not the same is it? :(

The SE and SRi interiors are both nice places to be.

Get an SE, spray the centre console and the vent surrounds silver (to match the door/dash inserts), add chrome door handles to match all that, then put in some white dials, and finish it off with some nice floor mats, and you've uplifted the interior completely.
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD :(
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.

SE already has silver center console and white dials?
Will either be an Exec or an SE.
