I have only 1 key for my Peugeot. So if I buy used key off ebay or breakers, I need to resync key with my car. What do I do with immobiliser chip? Also anyone could help me with that near Northampton?
If i don't have the PIN how can I find it out cheaper than dealer price?
Thanks

Re: 406 D9 key reprogramming
Not sure about the transponder chip, (though there's been plenty of discussion on here to search through). I think you need two identical transponder chips & the matching sensor gubbins that fits round the lock, though this may depend on the age of your car. A possible shortcut is to remove the chip from your key & attach it inside the cowling within sensing range - this effectively removes the immobiliser, but nobody knows that.
Regarding the pin, leehdi may be able to help you, but I joined http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/ search for a post entitled Peugeot VIN to PIN, post your VIN & someone will reply with the PIN in a day or so.
You need PP2000 to get the car to 'learn' the new keys - I've got one & live in Corby, or join us at the Gaydon meet in 2 weeks.

Re: 406 D9 key reprogramming
You need a virgin transponder chip. You cannot use a second hand one, as they can't be programmed to a different car. The circuit board for the central locking will be ok, but the transponder chip won't be, you need a new one.
Re: 406 D9 key reprogramming
Non programed chip can be found on eBay, but to Program it using pp2000 the 4 digit pin is required. Usually stealers got them

Re: 406 D9 key reprogramming
Got a key fob from ebay, which is a little bit different to mine. The alarm chip inside is different and says PRI on that. My old one doesn't say anything. Swapped the blade and immobiliser chip over, but can't get the alarm working
still can lock/unlock the car manually, starts ok.
Is it different type of alarm? Both fobs have LED light, just different in shape. What can be done there?
Thanks
