My other car is a 1990 lotus elan so im used to dodgy electrics, and things generally falling apart.
Both cars have solid engines which is the main thing.

Is it possible to fit after market cruise control to the rapier model? Its the only thing thats really missing, loving the car already and only done 50 miles

Re: New owner
You might be able to configure it for cruise control by adding the stalk and enabling the function in software. It's not always possible, mostly depends on whether your car's got the wiring for the clutch & 2nd brake pedal switches.
Yours has the later style, 'COM2000' stalk assembly - the extra cruise control stalk just clips in.
No way of knowing if it can be 'turned on' without plugging it into a computer, (which a few of us have), whereabouts are you?
Try doing a search for 'cruise control', or 'adding cruise control'. Try to make sure you can get everything, before you spend any money on it.

Re: New owner
I live in Huddersfield.
Ive done a good run on the motorway today, only getting 39mpg, driven my dads x reg 406 estate GLX for the last 8 weeks and got a minimum of 44mpg...
Does the rapier have a different gear ratio or is there something a miss?

Re: New owner
Wlecome in mate, try a good oil and filters service, worth doing anyway and it could improve those MPG's

Re: New owner
its already just been done, i have noticed that the coolant temp fluctuates, its just had a new radiator fitted so assumed it was an air lock, am i right in thinking that the bleed valve is the plastic winged screw? If it is then it didnt need bleeding as there wasnt any air released from there... I dont think from the way its fluctuating that its the thermostat, (where is it located had a quick look and couldnt see it) any other pointers?
Thanks in advanced, I was hoping not to require any help this soon but hey...

Re: New owner
There's a little sensor on the right hand side of the engine (as you look from the front of the car) that I changed on mine to stop the fluctuating temperature guage. Don't panic too much about 39mpg either. I never got more than 45mpg out of mine, but there are people on here that reckon they get that as an average. I have been reliably told that motorway fuel consumption improves dramatically with the addition of cruise control so if you do a few motorway miles, it may be a worthwhile investment.nicowalker1 wrote:its already just been done, i have noticed that the coolant temp fluctuates, its just had a new radiator fitted so assumed it was an air lock, am i right in thinking that the bleed valve is the plastic winged screw? Re: New owner
thanks for the quick reply, where did you get the sensor from? Are they costly? Could i be really cheeky and ask you to get a pic if you ever get a spare moment so i know exactly what im looking for?

Think it was about £25 from Peugeot. Pictures are a bit awkward because you can't really get a good shot of what's in that area - I know because I tried to take pictures of the fitting when I was struggling to work out how it went in!
If you're close enough to do the door card swap, I could probably show you easily enough.
