Early HDi - non dual mass???????

When I put in my VIN it gives my vehicle in the blue bar at the top, but I still have to choose 406 RESTYLING from below to go any further.

That had never happened to me before, until I was looking again this afternoon
I logged back out, and back in again, and it worked properly
Might have just been a blip

Just tried it again. Bad news - mine is the dual flywheel. Looks like I'm set for another £1000 to spend when the clutch goes.

Well, I must admit, I wasn't convinced on the 2001 bit
From that press release, the D9 thing sounds more plausible

Must just be the D8 HDi's with the solid flywheel

Yeah, its a horrible dilemma plod.
But 2002 HDi 2.2 sounds pretty smart to me.

I've just spent £450 on tyres, an oil change, and an MOT for my 406 which I consider to be worthless (and now "engine anti-pollution system defective" has started toying with me on and off ) But its better than anything I could buy. (And, frankly, nicer and better equipped than many newer cars -- though somewhat under-powered -- but you don't have that problem ) Run it till summat busts seems to be my mantra.

Could you put a solid flywheel in instead?

Dont know if its any help but, My old 406 didnt have a Dmf,

if your replacing the clutch and flywheel dont do what idid mate:
Get the parts your self and then get someone to fit them,

ithrown a few hundread notes down the drain by letting a company source the parts and fit them,

ive just replaced the clutch flywheel and bearing in my toyota, cost me £34 incl vat, iwill be staying with Toyotas for a bit longer now me thinks

I guess we just always thought a HDi had a DMF as matter of course, but obviously not

No DMF in your D9, well I think we can categorically say this backs up the SB information that mine has a solid flywheel
Yes, my mechanic mate has a mate in the dealership, and that's where i'm going to pick up the clutch in next half hour
Think i'm going to get the lower mount whilst i'm there after all, as the mount has to come off anyway, so foolish not to do it really despite the fact I can't really afford it, but at the same time, I can't really afford not to do it can I
