My Pug Died - Revived =)

Post by RayneR »

well, when i was parking at the factory, the car smoothly died and i can't get the motor to start again ...

It turns the motor well but it won't fire ...

Problems that i had on the car: The pulley that puts strength on the alternator belt was not doing too many pressure, but i went into the garage and he said that it could go to it's normal state again and i don't need to worry about it, well i went into the garage because the belt was doing a noise like it was released and then rapidly streched ( because the pulley was not doing pessure ) and if i accel a bit the noise desapear, only on idle does it.

Now when the car stopped working i looked at the alternator belt, it was in bad state, it was fray. maybe it's nothing related ... well i had to call to the travel assistance... well it's at another garage and only on tuesday they can tell me something :(

Well an update on this, as passed some days while i had this problem, which is now sorted.

Well as john said, it was some bits of the belt which entered in the crankshaft pulley which make the timing belt jump one or two teeth. And this made some little things which i don't know it's name but i think the motor has 8 of them, and all of them broke ....

Well, the problem was originally made by the crankshaft pulley which was a fixed one ... and this broke the tightener of the belt, and made the belt freying itself.

Now it's working like an horse again :)

Rocker arms - in the event of cam belt failure on an HDi they're meant to break rather than the engine self-destruct as on just about any other engine you'd care to imagine.

Clad you got it sorted :cheesy:
