wood trim

I know that a lot of people dont like the wood trim well im afraid i do what i would like to no is what colour is it called i.e is it oak maple etc hope someone can answer it im stumped

That would be Walnut

Well... faux-Walnut, anyway

It's a shame, actually - real walnut is quite nice. If they could put real walnut in the car, it would look much nicer.

The faux-Ashwood trim you find in some 406s is nicer than the faux-Walnut.

im one of the few people who likes the wood in the 406, although there is a darker ash which looks a bit classier.

Im not a fan of the wood look, (sorry
when ihad it in the the old 406 iripped it out didnt like it, but that was the light wood look colour, looks like Fablon from the £1 shop.

but when ichanged the interior it all came with the Black ash trim it looked pretty good,
iwill be going with the black-ash look in my next 406 ithink,

Iguess the wood colour choices will be a bit like Marmite, luv it or hate it,

id love to learn woodworking (or is it carpentry) and cut down a tree and carve the wood into the shape for the 406s panels, then also perhaps add a nice insert like old jags try and get the peugeot logo engraved into it and insert a bit of metal into the engraving, then lacquer it.

Easier to just go out and buy a pre- 70s car. less hastle if you want Real wood.
all the Weight of Real wood in a 406 wouid make it Rattle even more, lol.,

this is another one of my mad ideas
surely it would be possible, if you cut down a tree, or source the wood, surely it would be possible to shape, carve and sand it into the same shape as the plastic bits in the 406 once the right colour and lacquered right a bit of silicone or tigerseal behind them would stop the rattles, wouldnt it?
and if its possible to do it with wood, would it be possible to get aluminium and cut it into the right shape then brush it for the right effect, it would look nice.

i did love that car jeremy made my sort of thing indeed.
altough im happy with the 406, id just like to change some of the materials into more natural ones, the real wood, perhaps real wool carpets, and as for the silver parts of the dash why not make them from real aluminium.

Ithink the idea of a wood burner in a 406 wouid be good,
iwasnt impressed with Freezing my Nads off through the winter, 15 mins for heat was abit of a pain,

Maybe some wood wouid be a good idea, aspose if you placed a metal container of some sort in the passenger footwell then the homemade trim couid be ignited and itl create abit of warmth on those winter mornings ,

is it possible to get a timed heater that burns off the cars fuel or parafin? my uncle had a vw 411LE and it apparently had such a heater, he said it was great for cold mornings it had the windows all defrosted ready for use.

Ford had that idea but Maybe they got the idea off Vw
idont know if Peugeot ever fitted it to any of there Builds tho,
iirc Ford called it a booster heater or something, they soundlike a Mini Helicopter when they boot up,

my uncles old vw though as good as the idea sounded was the death of the car, the heater caught fire spontanously one summers day. So if it went fire in a VW i wonder what peugeot would do.
