pug 406 2.1 turbo diesel reving up and down ?

im having the same sort of trouble with my 2.1 td and i been told its usually the throttle position sensor ( its the drive by wire system ) located by the battery because when i put my foot down in mine the car would lose power and when i put my foot on the clutch it would run at tick over even if i tried reving it . i contacted my local dealer and they said that it is quitea common problem on the 2.1 td .

i was having this problem and it was a bad engine temperature sensor.
