It was worth it, i seen the car on autotrader, id been waiting a while for a low mile hdi 110 executive, i liked the colour and USB reg plat in the excitment i just went for it booked the flights, and ferry, but that cost about £400 for the plane, taxi, diesel, and ferry home.
Although the car still did cost £2600 which seems expensive enough for a 406.

I live in Aberdeen - my old saloon came from Lossiemouth, and my Coupe was all the way down in Earlston.

Travelling for these cars is worth it just for the journey home 8)

well my options are, the 406 51 plate estate 2 litre hdi 110 152k miles £995

a 307 sw, 2.0 hdi 110 161k miles 52 plate 12 months mot £995

or a 407 estate 2.0 hdi 136s 180k mles, new turbo, 1 company owner £1695, but id have to haggle a bit for that one, id be close though.

the 307 sw is taking my fancy at the moment though

Yeah ive heard that mentioned before. What is it? To be honest ithink the 406 will be the one i go for. At 150k miles what should i look out for on a test drive? I like the 307 but it seems a bit too good to be true and a fair way away. Plus ive been offered a good price against the 406 on my megane.

One thing that caught my eye with a 307 was the £95 odd quid a year road tax.

The other half though wasnt keen on the hieght of it saying it looking a bit hearse like!

i suppose the old dpf has to do something good at some time. but a fill up of dpf fluid could soon offset the difference

It wouldn't be an import, and on the initial inspection an emissions reading was taken there and then and used as a tax band?

If so, could you fire some redex down it and get a new reading?

Dpf won't do anything to improve CO2 emissions - that's purely a function of how much fuel it uses. If anything the dpf will make it less economical as it wastes diesel by burning it in the exhaust to clean the FAP element. [/tee shirt]

The Isle of Man.

Makes my insurance renewals fun and games.

"Well yea technically it's an import but it's UK spec. Technically from outside the EU but it came from the British Isles" etc.
