Limp mode ... Please help.

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

In fact I was referring to Chinese replicas and it has been one and a half years since I purchased it and my friend uses it in his garage and scanning average 5 vehicles daily basis. You won't have the agent specific functions such as shematic diagrams and access codes and latest updates for 308, 4007s etc, but to surive with a 406, that is more than enough I would say. :D

Hi all,

I just had the codes read.

He came up with;

1. Intermittent fault. Supply to sensors short circuit to earth
2. Intermittent fault accelerator pedal. signal to circuit to + or earth
3. Accelerator pedal to coherence with pedal signal
4. Intermittent diesel High pressure. Lack of pressure
5. Crank and camshaft syncopation signal speed to sudden
6. Heating circuit pre-heat

looks like its an earth problem ... where to start??? lol

also can someone please tell me how to solve or what 4-6 means?

Thanks

6. Heating circuit pre-heat

This is possibly faulty glow plugs - If they need replacing don't go to Halfords - They are useless

Good luck

Thanks mate, guess I will be making a trip to europarts.

Can anyone please tell me which area to look for a problem relating to "4. Intermittent diesel High pressure. Lack of pressure".

Many thanks

Teamy could be right there - your best bet would be to hook it up to a PP2000 & watch the live data to see what's happening. The codes alone don't really give you the full picture.

While it does look like you have a glow plug problem, it definitely won't be causing the limp problem, you may be better leaving that bit for now.

I had error P1352 on my 2001 HDI90 - This did cause the car to go into Limp Mode - Replaced with Glow Plugs from Halfrauds.
Fault cleared immediatey. 87 miles later went back into Limp mode - Code P1352 - Removed glow plugs, all distorted.
Halfrauds replaced them with a new set - These lasted less than 500 miles. Each time they failed car went into Limp mode
Halfrauds gave a refund. Went to EuroCarParts for a set, 3000 miles ago and still working ok.

Hence earlier post not to use Halfords glow plugs

Right .... quick update.

I managed to clear all of the electrical faults ..... there was few wires rubbing and caused them to short .. now sorted. :cheesy:

Yes the “Heating circuit pre-heat” fault was indeed glow plugs, so thanks to all!! Fires up a dream now!

The only fault now is “Intermittent diesel High pressure. Lack of pressure” which is now turned into “Intermittent diesel pressure sensor” . Has anyone had this problem? Is this the sensor attached to the bottom of the fuel rail? If so, can it be cleaned or will I need to buy a new one??
