Our old neighbours, years ago, bought an ex-RUC mk3 Ford Granada.

Apart from the big missing bit in the dash where the screen would be, and various screwholes everywhere, it was mint. Did them well for years.

Van would be a good call, less likely to be raked or rammed than a panda / traffic branch car, but they have their dedicated mechanics and as they are the law, maintain them with no expense spared.

im pissed off with this van already,

Wont go in 3rd gear -if its going up a slope or down hill,
Spits its self out of 5th at 70mph.

Box is fubard ithink,.
seller says he will pay for the parts but not the fitting,
or he will refund but not the full amount ipaid,

will be contacting trading standards on this one me thinks,
shame tho as the van is lovely other than the faults :(

It could be the gearbox mounts or the linkages. I wouldn't worry too much. Gearboxes for the XUD and DW10 are cheap as chips :)

Replace gearbox and engine mounts, make the fella pay for replacing a gearbox + mounts without the fitting -> Profit.
