Changing window wipers

I've just bought some new wiper blades but I can't raise the wiper arm to get the old ones off, I've undone the nut on the wiper arm but it doesn't wanna come off.

Help guys

raise the wipers to the top of the screen then turn the ignition off. you will then find you will be able to change them.
