is there a set way the droplinks go on or can they go on anyway when car is doing 65 the front is bouncing around just wondered if it got them on wrong way round

sounds like you have weak shock absorbers, this will put stress on the ARB droplinks, and bouncing it almost definatly worn shocks.... fitting the arb droplinks (back to front) would not cause "Bouncing"

Hi john, you cannot put them on the wrong way. When you fit them just make sure they are seated into the hole the ball joint goes through and that the nut is tightened up proper. As iangt said, make sure the front struts are ok and you have the right tyre pressure. While you at it make sure the bushes on the anti roll bar that the drop links fit in are ok. Mine are ok and the car has done 130,000 mile now.

i will go and get a seconhand shock to test and if that works will by new set

bounce the front of the car ,

see how many times it bounces before it levels off,

bounces more than 3 times before levling off = new shocks needed,

hope you can understand what im going on about

it might save you buying a shocker

From my experience, a vibration through the seat indicates a problem with a rear wheel/tyre.

A vibration through the steering indicates a problem with a front wheel/tyre.

My guess would be a rear tyre out of shape or one that has a bulge in the sidewall or tread.

+1 Definitely agree - I've had it 3 times in as many years, always been o/s/r tyre on mine.

Just one or two more thoughts..

I had some rear track control arms recently whose balljoints that were a bit too big to go through
the hole on the hub assembly. Thinking they were nice and tight I noticed weavingbouncing at around the same speed.
Off the came and a file soon sorted them out. Front lower balljoints can some time loosen and I had that at the same time also.
When a rear wheel bearing loosens/collapses then (If you have discs) the disc momentarily touches the pads and
causes a rumbling/buffeting sensation. Tell tale is the disc going blue and heat of course.

I recently did a rear drop link and took a few pics. I used the ones by Pearl products which are cheap as chips
and also have spanner grips on the stub of each moving joint for ease of fitting/removal.

how easy is it to do got the missus nagging me to get it sorted

Very easy, about 20 minutes a side including wheel removal, I have replaced them without removing wheels before.
The links I bought, I used a 19mm ratchet spanner and an allen bit of a size I forget to hold the middle bit still as I do / undo the nut.
