A week with the Red Coats!

Post by teamster1975 »

I've taken the family down to Butlins in Minehead, first impressions I am really impressed with the place!
I had visions of Hi-de-Hi but it really is nothing like that! It's the first time I've felt relaxed in a long time, just need the sun to put his hat on and all will be well! :)

If you've gone half catered, my advise is to get to the foodhall early, the food is rank towards the end of the shift.

We usually go down there once a year, October half term is our next visit. It's great, does exactly what it says on the tin! Plenty of stuff to do and the entertainment is usually fairly entertaining. If you're not half board, the food costs can run a bit and I find most of the food on the camp to be pretty poor and crap value for money, but there's a nice Weatherspoons in the town now (right up the top of the main street) and on the lower end of main street there's a pub called the Hairy Dog which is good for eats, plus they've got a big outdoor play area at the back that'll keep the tea pot lids occupied while you and the Mrs enjoy a post meal pint

We enjoy our trips to Butlitz :cheesy:

We've gone for self catering, there's a morissons and tescos just round the corner so food & beer is sorted!
Thanks for the heads up Dai, we'll try that pub out tonight! 8)

Highly recommended Plod, it's a brilliant resort.
