Lx is cheaper than an SE on insurance, but not by much. Worth bearing in mind though, that if insurance is an issue, it is well worth considering the C5 as an alternative. An insurance quote on a 2.2 C5 worked out cheaper (but not by much) than my 406.
I think Sam's pretty much ended the debate on this one though as I don't think there are any other regulars who were anywhere near to being in the market, so it's looking like she'll be going in Autotrader next weekend (albeit minus a few items such as non-smoker kit, genuine Pug rubber mats etc.). I should state though, that I am grateful that people have let me know their intentions so that I do at least know one wa or the other.
Financially speaking, I'll probably be better off that way, but it would have been nice to see the old girl carrying on in the hands of another member, so that at least someone I like could benefit from the amount that's been done over the past couple of years.
Once I've removed the bits I'll start a "bits for sale" thread, but the Nautilus wheels will probably sell better through the coupe club or Ebay.
If there's anybody with a Rapier or S nearby, there may be scope for somebody to take on the SE interior as the swap could probably be done in a couple of hours. I would've been tempted to go back to standard LX, but then I'd have to change the dash back to grey too.

Nah all HDi110s are the same on insurance. My insurance seems to go by the engine sizewaue1978 wrote:Lx is cheaper than an SE on insurance, but not by much. Wasn't planning to, but this Beemer was too good a deal to pass up & the seller seems pretty genuine so far. You were the main person that I thought may have been interested & was quite pleasantly surprised to find Plod would have been too as I honestly thought he was looking for much newer.Bailes1992 wrote:Nah all HDi110s are the same on insurance. You never know, the buyer may end up looking on here from time to time anyway so could still be able to see the progress.

I was looking for newer, but the condition of your car is not to be sniffed at, and warranted a considration none the less

Already well versed in the ways of the Beemers. Learned to drive in an old 518 & had loads since. As it turned out, I didn't buy the 520i & now still have the Pug, but still looking to change (if I can get away with it).
