i am thinking of fitting daytime running lights Inside my D9 headlamps, not just stuck to the bumper but properly installed inside the head lamp unit, opinions ? "should be left on audi's" or "Could be interesting" ?

Could look good if done properly.

I've seen on Coupes the DRL LED strips run along the top of the headlamps (outside the headlamp casing), sitting between the headlamp and the bonnet. I've also seen them run along the bottom of the headlamps (which requires some careful adjustment of the position of the lamps).

Has also been done - the only caveat is that you need to choose a very reliable LED strip, and one that is very resistant to heat. This is only because it's a pain in the ass to split the headlamps, and so you really only want to do it once :cheesy: Tales of melted plastic and shattered lenses are not unheard of whilst splitting them.

You also need to position them in such a way that they don't disrupt the beam pattern of your dipped or main beam bulbs (as this can result in MOT failure). Speak to your MOT guy before you start; you don't want to risk knackering your headlamps if it'll just get rejected at the first MOT.
