Glow plugs in the heating system?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Glow plugs in the heating system?

Post by Bailes1992 »

The 306 HDi has glow plugs within the heating system to warm up the collant so you have instant hot air when demisting the screen.
I assume the 406 has the same somewhere?

Anyone shed any light on this?

Yep, my HDI 110 does, and very good it is when it cuts in below 10 degrees. Its to do with the cool running of these engines at low revs.

mine doesn't, instead it has a water jacket around the egr pipe - one reason for not blanking it i guess

Mine's got both, but I thought the egr heat exchanger was to prevent damage if the valve opened / failed to seal during a FAP regen. :?
