Re: pug 406 speakers,
Don't know about the door speakers, but remember that standard tweeters were £10ish. Surely they'd be peanuts from somebody breaking one.
Is this for the Picasso?

Yup im looking for some for the piccaso,
the ones in there now are identicle to the Kardon ones found in 406s (same conectors and speaker desighn,) but there made by some company in italy,
there a bit cheap & nasty, there most probs 10 or 15w very thin paper,
the Kardon ones wouid be excellent in the citreons ithink,
seen some on ebay but im thinking of just buying brandnew ones, if there not overly expensive,

Re: pug 406 speakers,
I bought a pair of Alpine replacement ones from Halfords for just over £30. I'd say that'd probably be cheaper than standard ones from a dealer. Anybody breaking one would probably sell a pair for £10 + postage.

Re: pug 406 speakers,
Shows how much I know - part number is 6562X2 & they're £9.29 each.
Most expensive are the JBL tweeters which are nearly £40.

Cheers Waue,
iwas thinking of aftermarket speakers, But they wont sound right idont think,
then theres having to splice/chop the connectors, idont fancy that tbh.

Re: pug 406 speakers,
I think the Coupe door speakers are the same as the saloon door speakers. Ask ade1122 on the Coupe Club forums if he has a pair of working speakers from a Coupe with S trim - the S trim Coupes didn't get JBL.

His eBay name is also ade1122; you could find one of his ads on eBay and contact him that way?

Re: pug 406 speakers,
Cheers highlander,
ive picked up a pair of speakers,
Waste of time Tbh,
theres no differnce in sound, there not sounding Bass- Y like in the pugs,
seems the Piccaso, is a very Tinny car Audio wise,
ive been told to snip the wires to the Tweeters on the dash but then whats the point having something there that dosent work,
iwill leave it standard me think,
idont even think fitting aftermarkets speakers wouid alter it, it wouid still be Tinny,

Re: pug 406 speakers,
The acoustics of the car could certainly have something to do with it, yeah. But then, it also depends on the amplifier, and the settings on the graphic equalizer (if the HU has one built-in).
If you're still on the stock HU, ditch it pronto and replace it with a reasonable after-market unit; aim for one between £60 and £120. You'll get better quality sound out of the standard speakers using a better HU with a built-in graphic equalizer.
Cutting the tweeters is definitely a mistake; you'll lose a lot of the definition in your sound, particularly in vocals and (if rock is your thing) in guitar solos. What is missing from your sound is bass; a good HU will allow you to increase the bass - this will help reduce the tinny-ness.
