manual gearbox oil

hello,
well so far the clutch on the pug is doing ok, not run it up the road yet but the presure is there every time i try it,what i now need to know is when i had the drive shafts out i lost a bit of transmition oil, so wheres the filler located???

peugeot 406 R reg 1998 diesel dt 5 speed manual,

Pop the arch liner off and it's a plug at the top edge of the 5th gear housing at the end of the box. Fill it up on a level surface until oil comes out. You'll need 1.7 litres if I recall, and make sure it's the right PSA specification!

Stuff that, it's too much of a faff trying to use the filler. Just pull the air filter housing out and unscrew the reverse light switch on top of the gearbox. Chuck 1.9 litres (for ML5 boxes) into an empty gearbox

May be a bit late with this one but if you do go through the reverse light switch route watch you dont lose the clip that holds the wiring connector on I did :cry:
1997 406 2.0 petrol estate lx..D8.............OH dear where does this nut go?

I did the box oil on Wednesday. You don't actually have to remove the liner, there is space to get the tube in no problem!
