Post by pbmacd »

Jacked up car today as its not handling very well and the passengers side wheel has a lot of movement from left to right so I thought wishbone bushes and its got a new track rod. Well it seams that the bolts moving not the bush. As any one seen this before were it bolt hole has elongated. I was thinking of welding a thick washer to it but what do you lot think.

Thanks

Yes I will be getting it all striped down sometime this week so will upload some then. Been told this is a common problem on old escorts but I have never seen it before.

I think your probably better off with a new subframe. Surley you can pick one up from a scrappy for penuts?
My 406 had an elongated hole where one of the bushes went in. Had to have a new hub :(

If you have a MIG you could maybe fill it with weld then re-drill it. Most likely this could be done in-situ.
