Diesel ECU remap - recommendations?

Post by imartin »

Hi,

There seem to be several companies offering ECU remaps: Superchips, Elite etc.
Has anyone any experience of getting their car remapped and was it worth it?

Some companies offer Eco tune as an alternative to a performace upgrade. Has anyone gone for this instead - the savings are supposed to be as high as 20% I understand.

Has anyone tried this and has it impacted the cars performance?

Although I'd like the extra fuel economy I'd be loathe to loose too much in the way of acceleration etc. Not worried about high speed - 70 mph is enough for me!

I've got a 2003 110bhp hdi estate with 34000 on the clock now.

Also are there any disadvantages (extra wear etc) that anyone has found after doing this.

I used performance torque in Wolverhampton for mine a couple of years ago, the results were amazing, my 110 went from feeling like a slow old bus to decent petrol car, i had it tuned to 135 bhp and 224 lb/ft

I haven't noticed any extra wear and the engines fuel economy is more or less the same as before i had it done, the car is just a lot more responsive now

Anyone heard or or used Alientech for a remap? There's an agent/franchise fairly near to me.
