Updated: Clutch Fitted, small problem
406 2.0 hdi 110 2000/may
My clutch is slipping a bit more often then 1 year and half ago, then problem is that when i hit hard the acceleration pedal my RPM goes wildly up and the car speed won't change but right after that it will go down and get stable.
So, is there anyway to adjust the clutch ?
no? Then will i need to buy the clutch and flywheel and rest of the bits, or with only the clutch and the rest of the bits i'm good ?
By the way i want to do a medium repro for about 20 bhp, so with my clutch current state i won't have any chance of doing it right ?

My clutch slipped like this for 2 years, it always seemed to slip more when everything was hot so, being in Portugal, I suppose yours will slip more than usual.
Best cure seems to be to convert to a solid flywheel and new clutch kit. A member on here "rapport25" sourced an uprated (organic/stage 2?) clutch for his, it might be on here somewhere if you search.

nope no adjustment, even if so its not worth it,
best thing to do is Nurse it for a bit, drive it like its a day old,

Well the complete clutch kit is a lot expensive
, i can't even imagine an uprated one ... but i suppose with a solid convertion kit i'll do just fine either ...no ?
i read somewhere when i searched here on the forum that a guy remapped he's and still drove the clutch like this for almost 2 years

try bleeding the slave cylinder - *might* just be the system being over-pressurised. Unlikely, but worth a try just in case

Well, just an update.
I skipped that option, i'll just put a new complete clutch on december or in january . i thought buying the following : ( Give your advice considering that this new clutch it's for remapping the ecu for about plus more 20 bhp thank you.

VOICE OF EXPERIENCE: With the *considerable* amount of time and effort involved in changing a clutch on a 406, I'd buy nothing less than branded kit from somewhere you can easily get a refund if it ends up breaking after a few days.

theres a company near me, (Lancashire ) that refurbish clutch parts
they just rebuild/skim preasure plates, and re friction brake pads clutch plates, a coat of silver paint and no ones the wiser,
strangely ive never had a problem with there stuff its as good as original,
perhaps alot of companys on ebay selling cheap kits are getting them from same supplier,

Well, i though that one was good because it included the solid flywheel, which it's the best thing to change either with the clutch. People always says to me that i should change the flywheel also ...
So i came across that kit which is a solid flywheel and clutch with nice price.

Euro car parts are doing a solid clutch conversion for approx £150 inc. of vat.

Apparently, i asked the seller what was the brand of the clutch and he said it was he's own brand clutch " techniclutch " ( seller's name ) . Theres nothing wrong with Re-furbed clutch parts,
ive been using them for the past 16 years never had a problem
however if its a Re-frictioned part id never pay that,
eg ipay, £9 for pads,
£12 -£15 for a (clutch/friction disc- plate,
or kits £50 upwards depending on what car it is,
the parts in the clutch plates are basicly new, springs etc,
its only the backing plates they re-use
preasure plates etc are proffesionaly skimmed the amount shaved off is compensated with the clutch plate thats provided with it,
ive been using them for the past 16 years never had a problem
