Soft open glovebox?

Can someone tell me whether the mechanism for the soft closure/opening of the glovebox on certain latter models is part of the glovebox, or the lower dash section that side, or both

Reason is, i've bought a black glovebox from a rapier off the bay, and i'm led to believe its soft closure/opening

If the mechanism is part of the lower dash section, then I need to look for one of those, if not, I can explore the option of just getting the guys who painted my interior parts, to paint the dash section

I guess I could check out SB, but head is banging, and I can't be arsed

Glovebox turned up today, and it's obvious the soft closure requires both the glovebox and lower dash
Thus i'm on the lookout for a lower passenger side dash from a rapier
Also need the coin tray/fuse box cover from a rapier also

Mine's supposed to have a braked mechanism... doesn't work though grr
