droplinks

Post by tux2006 »

fitted new springs n shocks last month now got a nasty case of the knocks on the front left side im assuming this is the droplinks causing this? as it is a fair bit of knocking doesnt happen all the time usually when accelerator pedal is released and on slower speeds

Where is the best place to get some replacements? i've had a look on ebay and found some just wondered if there was anywhere else anyone could recomend?

Also as i'm going down that way is it worth replacing the brushes aswell? or any other compents?

Could be several things, but the links are a favourite. If the strut has been out then check it is properly secured etc.

For the negligible difference in cost, i'd get 'em from the pug stealer. They probably have them on the shelf and you know they'll fit right 1st time, so why compromise (strewth - I'm beginning to sound lika an advert!)

i had the same thing is it pulling in anyway at low speeds because it could be your drive shaft oo the way out.
this is my 406, kind of a never ending story. i started the project to stop buisness people hailing me down as a taxi. now i just wanna get it sprayed !! iv lowered it 45mm onto 17's. its got an induction kit, air/fuel regulating gizmo to increase the fuel mixture, a rage exhaust,a full carcept bodykit, dvd player, sony head unit..........

ARGHHH its got ALOT worse!!

there is now a constant knocking when not flooring it and the steering wheel is vibrating madly I don't mean a gentle vibration side to side but physically moving about an inch either side of normal when just driving gently :?

it also pulls sharply to the left then after a while its fine may even be pulling slightly to the right

is this a driveshaft problem?wheel bearings? suspension? :x

hmmmm check your wishbone bushes may be a fair bit of play causing if so usually better replacing the whole arm as these usually come with new bushes included

i would stop driving your car right now for one, it seems to me that the most likely cause of this is when you had your suspension done something has not been tightened correctly and is loose. jack the car up and check the suspension bolts , also check everything for play.

edit nvm says you done it last month but i would still check it out, normally for lowerd cars they eat p bushes on the wishbone, and droplinks.
