Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Boot light

Post by leestudd30 »

Noticed mine wasn't working when I opened the boot, how do I get it out to change the bulb?

Rattle the boot lid about a bit and see if it comes to life; it's usually the mercury switch that goes to pot on these.

You need to be highly qualified to come up with such technical expertise.

I have a large array of Red glowing lights (as part of my secret 406 modding project I've not documented yet) running off of the boot light and after spending a good 45 minutes fitting the lights to find out that they'd all suddenly stopped working on completion- my natural reaction was to slam the boot lid...

On opening it my boot glowed red- so I second the above

Prised it out with a screwdriver on saturday and it had no bloody bulb in it lol. But I was popping up the scrappy anyway and found another with a bulb in and it works, hooray lol. On the off chance it fails again, what kind of bulb does it take? Thought it would be like the bulbs in the interior lights but it has a plastic end which screws into the light.
