rear pads on a 406, do the pins that hold in the pads slide to the center of the car like most brake calipers?

Hi

No I would say that they slide in from the centre of the car outwards. When they get corroded in, you need to give them quite a wallop with a nail punch and hammer.

I changed the pins and retaining springs on mine recently.

You need to punch them inwards - see the howto for pictures: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6840
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Hi again

They will only fit one way because one end of the pin is fatter than the other
