ABS Teeth

Post by 406hdi02saloon »

Does anyone know if there should be an abs collar (teeth) on the 406 front n/s wheel?
my abs light is on and its my first mot with the car soon so need to get to the bottom of it, there is no collar there at the moment.

i am aware they can be bought seperate from the cv joint online.

its a 02 hdi saloon 110

thanks in advance!

All 4 wheels each have a ring
The rears are part of the hub assembly, and the fronts are on the cv joint

thanks.

so, i presume, the ring on my n/s front has snapped off, or the original cv joint has been replaced with a non abs version before i bought the car?
in any case i found these abs collars on ebay:

i always thought the cv joint had the teeth cast into them? would it be wise to replace the whole joint or just buy one of these collars?

thanks again!

It seems like none of them are, not even the rear hubs. I can tell you how many teeth the rears have but not the fronts

There's a "how to" over on the coupé club for fitting the rings without having to remove the driveshafts. There are pictures, it is a D9 and the rings have, hold on, 1, 2, 3... 48 teeth, just like the rears :cheesy:

I just had this problem abs light on just before the mot found the ring had split just came off in my hand
because it was so close to the mot i just took it to the garage and had a new cv joint put on lot less
