why, i thought rover ironed out all the problems by the phase 2 model and ended up with what the typical rover customer would call:
A Rather Fine Motorcar
Although jeremy clarkson didnt sing praise to it.

Im afraid to say i follow it all very closely, and agree quite a lot, except when he said the 309 was ugly.

Thread resurrected from the dead :supafrisk:

Went to my girlfriends parents down in Lincolnshire for the weekend and managed to get a quick snap of one of his cars, i have been trying to take a sneaky snap for years.

Image

Its a 1986 Saab 900 2.0 auto with 66000 on the clock which he uses as his every day car. Better still under the cover you can just about next to my Pug is a 1987D Saab 900 2.0 manual but in rarer 3 door saloon flavor and that has only done 39000 miles, its in mint condition. He also has a Volvo 460 on a K plate which is at the bodyshop at the moment getting a few bits done and im sure he said that has done something like 40k.

Im going back in 6 weeks so hopefully i will be able to get some more photos :cheesy: its just a shame they are not something a little hotter with the Carlsoon badge 8)

Years back my Uncle had a string of Rover SDI's! Had a maroon 3500 S, then a 3500 Vanden Plas auto, then a black 3500 Vitesse EFI. Bloody loved that car, but it fell to bits and he bought a Mk1 Citroen BX19 GTI 8V. He was nearly killed in a accident in that one, then bought another but the MK2 16V one instead! Haven't seen a BX GTI on the roads for years.

Sit tight cos our Mr Wiggy will show you his archive pics when he ran a couple of them. They were made of paper I think? mind you all cars back then weren't exactly strong were they.

Various plastics. They come up for sale now and then but they're usually ruined

Bing!

That's the only pic I got :(

I still see a few BXs floating about here, usually diesels. There's a guy down the road here who's got 4, including a 4x4, all in various states of collapse.

any that ever pop up on ebay tend to be diesels (shows how good the xud is)
i got one and it had been sat for 10 years we pulled it back to the farm, a bit of cleaning the battery terminals and some red diesel and it started after about 30 secs.

There was a mk 2 on ebay about a year ago, some fiddling but not scraping along the ground with stupidly big wheels. I didn't watch it go - too depressing

i might have asked this before but is the bx clamp proof on account of the suspension and the hidden back wheels?

The one on the right looks a minter! imagine if you'd have kept it preserved like that, I bet it'd be worth about £10,000.00 now :|
