Re: couple of electrical queries?
I'd take it from the fusebox - attach to the pin without power on the seat fuse, then slap a fuse in
As for the auto wipers, you're stuck with them I'm afraid. They do grow on you though

Hi Leo & welcome to the forum.
I'm not a fan of auto wipers either, but as Matt says, you grow tollerant over time.

On the subject of auto wipers;
Clearly you have never experienced the joy of leaving the engine running and getting your kids/partner to stand next to the car and said 'just throw that jug of water on the windscreen it needs a clean'
Do make sure you have your running shoes on if the Mrs has a bit of a temper as it does throw a fair bit of water at quite a high speed

Re: couple of electrical queries?
I see what you mean, but even better, my last Omega lost the pop-out nozzle gubbins from the headlight washer on one side - the resulting jet would travel a good 20 feet before splash-down.
Useful for cleaning other peoples' windows, soaking pedestrians, or even cleaning your own windscreen, (at over 50/55), if your washer nozzles were frozen.
