ignition fault or flat battery?
hi, had a wierd one today, car been sitting without use about couple weeks, today unlocked ok with remote and tried to start, ignition is on all dash lights on as suppose to but just for 2 seconds and then all goes out and relay under acceleration cable (engine bay) clicks for about 10 sec. and all stops withought any sign of life. Well first instinct was that battery might be gone, so its on charge now till the morning, but what was wierd that when you turn ignition on all dash dies after 2 sec. is that the way it should be when battery goes flat ? as i started to worry that ecu might packing
thanks

Oh, errr, well done
That was the last of what was in the battery I guess, when the battery in my D8 went it all came up but went off when I tried to start it (accompanied by the chattering relay) but came on again once I released the key.

Re: ignition fault or flat battery?
thats the thing with these new batterys they work fine and then can suddenly just go flat, this happened on the clio one day i parked it in the town it had started fine when i drove in but when i got to go home i turned the key lights came on turned it again and click then all went out no more power, it wouldnt even start with dumping the clutch as it rolled down the hill.
