Blue dash lights (D9)
I've eventually got round to uploading the pics of my blue dash. It was quite easy to do just got to have a (slightly) steady hand
.

that looks very good.
in some clocks the illuminator bulb is just a 501 side light bulb in a big holder.
i replaced mine yesterday with white LED 501 side lights. theres 7 in total on my clocks.

Didn't you need to scrub off the white stuff from the back of the MDF to get rid of the orangey glow. Love this though... looks very good, especially the clocks.

Re: Blue dash lights (D9)
The clocks were smd bulbs that had to be soldered on just like the mfd. The bit with the clock was them twist in bulbs. The mfd had an orange bit of plastic on the rear, all I did to solve that was take it out and replace it with a bit of a cravendale milk carton then put blue lights behind it
. I've also done the cigaret lighter soket blue and all the window switches

That looks great.
I want my dials like that too, but I would prefer the needles to be red. Would this be possible?
Cheers
Dave

Re: Blue dash lights (D9)
It should be possible. Theres a white led under the needle that makes it glow white so i dont see any reason it wouldnt glow red if you changed the led to a red one.

Can I ask how many LED's you used for your setup? So I can make up a shopping list.
Thanks

Re: Blue dash lights (D9)
I think I bought 30 smd's, 3 twist in bulbs and 10 of them little led's with the 2 long legs (sorry I can't remember what they are called). That did the mfd clocks and window switches.
What colour you doing if you don't mind me asking.

Re: Blue dash lights (D9)
Cheers Mate
I was planning to do the blue backlit dials like yours. I have since been massively put off the idea as it seems that it wont be a case of simply twisting out the old bulbs and replacing with twist in LEDs. Later dials are backlit by the those tiny LEDs mounted directly to the PCB.
Way too much faff, if at all possible.
