Not worried about the bodywork at the moment. It's moonstone and nearly every panel has had a bad respray and is peeling, flat, dull etc.
Had a new clutch last year, is a 90 so no DMF.
Going to get the timing belt, lower pully and AUX belt changed for peace of mind.
Give it a good service including coolant.

Also had new driveshafts last year because of the ABS rings and all the central lockign was rebuilt and lubricated cause it kept bouncing back.

I can live with the bodywork for the time being, might do a 'roller' job like this...
http://forums.focaljet.com/exterior-mod ... t-how.html

Or just get a panel done every few months or something.

Trying not to get my hopes up as it might not happen, but it's better than nothing :P

Insurance will go up £1200 though, but worth it? I think so :)

Thats ontop of the £1400 I paid for my Focus in November mind!
And I know a few people who will paint a car on the cheap, but If I'm going to spend allot of money on it then I want a decent job.

Because I can paint it by hand for sub £200.
If it looks half decent then great as I would have done it for a fraction of the cost.

I think to be fair to the insurance companies, we have to blame all the fraudulent claims that go on as part of the high premiums, as well as the companies them selves.
We had one in the summer, a bus hit a lorry, nothing major. Once all the claims for personal injuries came in, there were 30 people on this 16 seater.
But, they didnt know it had cctv, so we handed the whole thing to the police who are investigating. You can clearly see the 4 genuine passengers.

Yeah true mate,
theres scams going on, someone as a crash and a ring leader goes finds people to say they were involved in a crash they were a passenger, but they didnt leave the house

after the payout the person gives 50% of there ill gotten gains to the ringleader,
if hes got say 5-6 people to do that plus the lead hes sold to a solicitor for the persons claims, there profits of upto 6k per each scam,+ extra for the payout off solicitor for the lead, ( They realy get on my goat these bastids  )

Yeh, Miss my D8 badly :( So the hike in Insurance is worth it to me.
I was looking for a 1.9TD D8 Exec or a D9 HDi 110 Exec.
But this will do just lovely :D Beggers can't be choosers 'an all that.

I'l probably drop in an SE interior and try get some GLX controls so all I have to do is put a live to them. But for now, I'l be happy to be driving a 406 again

Just found a bit of a picture of my old D8 and my Uncles D9 together

Looks alright until you get to within 2-3m of it. Paints very dull, lots of peeling where panels have had quick blow overs etc.
Mechanically it's sound though, and thats all that matters really.
Interior is pretty mint other than the drivers side bolster is ripped and the on/off button on the radio dosen't work

Lets just hope I get it now and I haven't got my hopes up for noithing

Nice colour - same as Doggy's & it isn't too common either. SE seats don't need the rewiring - no memory on them.
