cheap ? price can be no object really. you still probably wont find a 2.1 exec . the seem to be extinct .

why is it you want a 2.1 exec ? will a LX not do ? and get a leather trim. thats what i did mate ...

i have a 1999 1.9 that i got . its LX has electric heated mirrors . electric sunroof . electric black leather (fitted myself)

you might be better getting a standard trim and adding the exec bits yourself ??

yh i suppose that is a option but its so much easier if its all done i got a 1.9 td on a s plate lxs tho i just want a bit more comfort

well the ride will be almost exact tbh. i fitted my leather with a leather steering wheel as well out a d8 exec...

you will probably get a leather trim for £80 mate . and apart from not having leccy windows in the back there isnt really that much difference really... the 1.9 is the better engine anyway because the 2.1 has the lucas fuel pump . were as the 1.9 has the bosch pump which can run on pure vegetable oil...

well the plan was keep my 1.9 and play with it see wat i can get out of it use it as a project tune the life out of it

i picked up my new 1.9 td for £500 mate. bodywork is mint . just around the radio aerial is started to bubble (job 2do when weather gets better)
its even got 164k on the clock . was owned by same family since 2002 . 1 owner before . so well looked after .
needed a few jobs doing mechanically which ive sorted - cambelt and waterpump. the car stands me at £700 now

there is good buys out there its just a pain in the arse keep searching for them

yhyh i just seeen ur motor tidy for 500 i paid 200 for mine but turbo had gone and took engine out paid 100 for engine and serviced n new belts etc it prob only owes me 450 but its just tatty and needs some tlc but starts and drives sweet smokes a bit tho

The HDi is a reliable engine if maintained properly and if you don't try to fuel it with vegetable oil or crap-grade biodiesel - just look at all the HDi-powered 406 taxis that have been going for hundreds of thousands of miles as proof of this.

Yes there are more electronics involved, but you know you can get help here if you have some niggly issues, and you'd definitely have to be really unlucky to get one that is a total lemon.

Keep an eye out for a nice low-mileage HDi Exec, there will be a fair few of these about, and at reasonably good prices. Either an HDi 110, or treat yourself and get a 2.2 litre HDi 16v that pushes 136 HP and ask Dogslife or Parm for assistance in removing the particulate filter and remapping the ECU to 180 HP.
