D8 looms? are they all the same?

Post by gumby6371 »

just wondering, if I were to chop my GLX in for a LX or L spec car, what's the chances of being able to fit things like leccy windows in the back?
Would they just use a standard loom across the range?

I know manual heater controls would have to stay due to the circulation 'flaps' (that's a great word I should use it more) but can much other stuff be retro fitted.

The reason I ask is the LX and L appear to be a lower insurance group and my engine is thirsty, tired and sluggish. Keeping my eye open locally for a nice 1.9td with about 100,000 on the clock to run on veg along with a flying pig and some rocking horse poo :D

My D8 had the wiring in place for electric seats and cruise but I gather others didn't, so I don't think there's any way of knowing for sure.

I believe the looms are all *supposed* to be different, however there was a certain amount of parts swapping going on in Sochaux (and in Turin with the coupés) when they were building the things...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
