You'd have to declare fitting an I/C to your insurance as it will jump out like a sore thumb if you needed a repair at the front
and given your age they might run a mile on this one?

A straight remap of the ECU won't be detected and 120bhp is the figure I remember being achieved. Mind you I think a lot of these remap's quote BBHP (bullshit brake horse power) figures to get you excited - not everyone has a remap and then proves the custard on a rolling road so just have a guess at it

iagree with all youve said there on the Remap figures,
theres no way of actualy knowing if what there stating is true withought a rolling road.

but the way ilook at it is, a 90 is actualy a 89 bhp
110 is 109 bhp, but they dont state that,

and acar natuarly looses horses with age

ihad my old 406 mapped and 150bhp was stated but iwouid of said it was kicking out more of 130 hp

so maybe you could just get the "90" re-mapped to 90 :cheesy:

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Don't worry won't be touching the performance side of things for a few years

Done 500+ miles in it today, and dropped into see Dai Rees!

God it's lovley on a cruise! So quiet!

What I have noticed is that the steering wheel is to the left in a straight line and I have buckled brake discs. Nothing that wheel alignment and a few quids worth of parts won't sort out mind :)

Done 48mpg including thrashing it over the heads of the valleys.

My XUD was quite abit faster, on the motorway I seemed to be using a fair wack of throttle to maintain 80? Is this normal? I'd say about 60% of the throttle. If I pinned it down it accelerated well so I think it is. I am wondering if the throttle needs adjusting slightly? Seems to do 0-60 in about 14s so I think it's just a charecteristic.
The trip computer on current MPG was showing about 54mpg at 80mph on the flat?

It wasen't illegal to remove the CAT as diesels can pass without them on the smoke test, BUT new legislation this years means you HAVE to have them. Welding an empty cat over a straight bit of pipe should work

80 feels like hard work in mine, especially trying to maintain it uphill.
I seem to have a sweet spot at about 65 -- maybe that's where it was driven by it's first owner.

Depends how inaccurate your computer is

Yeh was happy around 65-70mph.
80+ was hard work.
But it would settle nicley around the 95-100mph range which is where I try to keep out of

Glad it's not just mine that feels hard work at 80. Much just be lacking a little power around there.

lol I was going to say that
Did 90 down most of the M40 last year (it was deserted and I was on expenses). Feels like the engine is screaming at 3300 though. Kept going and not impossibly thirsty -- other than the big hill just south of Warwick services.
Used to do the full length of the M40 every week. Best bet is to sit behind a wagon and enjoy the economy: no surprises -- you know you'll be doing 56, and no Audis tailgating you.
How fast you want to do depends literally on how much money you have to burn :cheesy:

Had 100 out of it in 2010 -- on the M4 after massive delays and I was

This actually takes me slightly back to the "Best Diesel" debate. Both my Xantia (90) & my 406 (110) feel a bit strained coming up to the ton, but my old 1.9TD 405 (which would be equivalent to an HDi 90) managed 110 quite easily one night rushing to hospital.

Well my 90 feels quite lively between 90 and 107mph(top end). Not that I've been that fast in it

But between 75 and 85 there seems to be a really bad flat stop. And RWB seems to have the same flat spot too?
Hit a hill at 80 and you have to put the throttle down to the floor to keep it at 80? But it still does like 45mpg with your foot flat to the floor

My XUD definatley felt less stressed at 80mph, BUT... it wasen't as good on fuel and much louder
I love the way the HDi sounds identicle... but much quiter

The XUD would have been doing 80 at 3200rpm; final drive is slightly longer on the HDi 90 -- and longer again on the 110.

As for the best diesel, I think it's more important what's going on up to 2500 RPM. The 110 is much better than the difference between the numbers 90 and 110 suggests, and the 1.6 110 is a waste of space.
