First off, check if someone's removed the bulb. (Like my bro's D8, cos the airbag ecu's knackered)......

Re: airbag light not working
Hi Gary my airbag light was flashing so i put tape over it, then it went out permanently ,I thought the bulb had gone .i also had trouble with my heater thought it may be the slider control so I gave the centre console a smack with my hand the heater came on and so did the airbag light but it will eventually go out .Im thinking theres a loose connection in the dash or console but Im buggered if I can work out if they are related

You're talking about the module mounted to the floor by the handbrake, under the centre console? This thing:

Was it a straight swap from the other car?

Re: airbag light not working
yes mate thats it ... the airbag ECU ..
yes it was a straight swap over. simply plug in
i think i know why it blew up or went faulty.
it seems theres been 2 drivers in this car. the drivers seat orange airbag wire that connects to the seat belt fastner was all fraid and snapped. so its been shorting out.
this tells me the drivers seat has been moved back and forth a lot ie 2 drivers ...
IMPORTANT - disconnect battery and wait 5 mins before messing with any airbag equipment ...

Re: airbag light not working (Now Fixed)
Have you got the air bag light to go off mate,
or is it still flashing?
going to have a go at soldering the wiring on the seats on my pic this week,
just wondering if the light will go out if the Break in the circuit if fixed or will it need a Code/reader to reset it,
dont fancy paying £100 or more for pp2000 just for the one job

Re: airbag light not working (Now Fixed)
no lozz its not flashing now. when i fitted the spare ecu i just tested to see if it came on and it did. it was only flashing cos both seats were out of the car.
once i fitted seats back in and pluged them in the airbag light comes on . does its check then goes off as it should

Re: airbag light not working (Now Fixed)
Cheers gaz,
ive been out trying to fix the airbag light, Feck its cold out there,
Checked wires under seats, all have good contacts,
still light comes on, it apears the Pre-tensioners are built in with the seat belts,
so looks like ineed new seat belts perhaps,
weird car this, the pics have 2 airbag lights which is confusing,
one is showing side airbags, the other is showing air bag on steering wheel,
the side airbag one is going out as normal,
