Gliptone products are my favourite (from car valeting suppliers) but with furniture you need know what type of leather it is (leather faced, aniline etc). Even then you need to do a test area first.

Just found this guide, it's American but I'm sure you'll find a UK version http://www.rodenleather.com/faqs.html

i use autoglym leather cleaner which is a spray water type cleaner
and autoglym leather care cream which smells like leather and is a cream and once done you smell a nice leather smell
this soaks into the leather.

brilliant stuff

Autoglym works well on the motors, isn't too abrasive.

Anyone know a handy way of patching up a rip in a leather seat?

On ripped car seats,
ive used very fine Fishing line,
you need to be able to get under the ripped area of the seat to sew them tho , to form a fine seam,
