Horn problem

Hi I am new to 406 ownership and now have my Autotrader 2003 406 2.0 110 hdi glx estate, there are a few niggles which I noticed on my test drive they didnt put me off the car but I need advice on how to fix them.

I am splitting them into 4 seperate posts as they may need idividual responses.

The horn doesnt work any ideas?

If it's a COMM2000 then I guess it's the earth point in the middle of the steering wheel behind the airbag.

Thanks for that info and link, I assume that followingf that information which needs the battery disconnecting will knock out the radio which I dont have the code for unless it wont affect the radio.

How do I know if I have COMM2000 and what does that mean.

Please wait for someone to confirm the following, but I think I'm right in saying:

1) The D9 radios are coded to the VIN so do not require a code entering.
2) The COMM2000s have the rounded stalks whereas pre-COMM2000 have the old style stalk.

Be very carefull if you are going to disconnect the battery as it can mess a whole lot of things up,there is a procedure to follow when disconnecting the battery which has been posted on the forum somewhere.

Thanks for the post re the COMM2000 I have the type shown in the first pic which is COMM2000, the link given is very precise regarding the proceedure to be carried out before disconnecting the battery
