Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
Just gone 105,000, but no service history to confirm so could have gone to the moon and back. General condition would suggest it hasn't so here's hoping!

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
110HDI estate. 2000 "X"
Bought 24 March 2011 @ 106000
Today 24 January 2012 @ 137000
Commute 102 miles per day, plus some business trips and hildays and weekend knockabout.
Towed my car trailer with Caterham to Switzerland and back in September.
Also tows brilliantly with Saab rally car on trailer.
Just been to Germany and V-maxed at 116mph.
52mpg commuting
49mpg uk motorway 'brisk' cruising
47mpg towing car trailer a uk speeds
41mpg cruising at 100mph (106 indicated)
35 mpg towing Caterham in Europe (sustained 80ish)
Just after I got it, a few bits and bobs needed to be put right as I knew I was going to pile on the miles.
Discs, pads all round and h/brk shoes
Front lower arms and ball joints
Rear track control links
6000 miles later needed an exhaust mid and back box.
Just done cambelt, water pump and aux belt at 131500. Previous owner though it was done st 70k so I did it just to be sure.
Then flexijoint on downpipe failed.... but only slightly so didn't let me down.
Change oil and filter every 6k
Gearbox oil when i got it and every 24k
So far, total running cost INCLUDING:
Purchase price
Tax discs
Insurance
Fuel
Repairs
Servicing
Less than 23 pence per mile!
Fantastic! How bloody excellent are these cars as fast and economical transport workhorses
I love it!
Anyone else exposing their 406 to this type of heavy work cycle?

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
