Siemens ECU Cruise Control?
Right where do I start?
My car is Com2000 so I assume the conectors are garunteed to be behind the steering wheel? Yes/No?
What else do I need to look for? Cables on the pedal switched etc?
Would it be worth me getting Peugeot Planet for this?
Anyone got any pictures, wiring diagrams, information etc.
Would be greatfull.
Cheers, Bailes.

Re: Siemens ECU Cruise Control?
Ive been off for a while, you have got a 406 then, what sort is it?
The cruise control, peugeot planet helps set up the brake pedal and clutch pedal switches just right, screenshots:

(one is not mine i forget who gave me the picture, but its for parameter measurement over the switches)

putting in or moving the switches isn't comfortable, so its easier to drop the steering column:

that requires the use of torx sockets, but its them security ones, the rail with the important sizes work out the best value:

Try out a cruise control stalk and see what happens from there, a pp2000 would be a great help though especially if your cars the full multiplex.

By looking for the wire & position for the redundant brake switch.Bailes1992 wrote:Right where do I start?
There is no part number listed for a com2000 without the socket so AFAIK it'll be there. You could always pull the shroud off & check. My car is Com2000 so I assume the connectors are guaranteed to be behind the steering wheel? Yes/No?
That'd be choice, mine has the hole but not the wire but it sounds like mjb's doesn't even have the hole for it, looking at the parts diagrams it looks like it's part of the pedal bracket which might be a bit of a pain to change, no doubt something could be worked out for it, possibly with a relay. The wire could be tricky too, I've hunted high and low for mine and come to the conclusion it just isn't there, which means I'll have to run a wire all the way from the pedal bracket to the engine ecu, god damnWhat else do I need to look for? Cables on the pedal switched etc?

It might be useful for other stuff but I'd search for someone in your vicinity with it first, they should hopefully have an idea what they're doing with it too...Would it be worth me getting Peugeot Planet for this?
Well *hopefully*, although it depends if your car has odomètre ABS filaire capteur vitesse BV , whatever the feck that isAnyone got any pictures, wiring diagrams, information etc.

Did they give up teaching spelling?Would be grateful.

Your car is a 406 so it's not even guaranteed that the wiring harnesses aren't made from scrap bits of wire they found near the phone exchange!Bailes1992 wrote:My car is Com2000 so I assume the conectors are garunteed to be behind the steering wheel? Yes/No?
Pedal switches. If you have them you're laughing, otherwise you'll need to add them and either find connectors or wire directly to the ECUWhat else do I need to look for? Cables on the pedal switched etc?
Urgh. Just looked on docbackup (servicebox hasn't let me log in the last few days!) and it seems the bracket *should* be the same... Could be that I didn't look properly. Couldn't see a plug thoughSteve wrote:That'd be choice, mine has the hole but not the wire but it sounds like mjb's doesn't even have the hole for it, looking at the parts diagrams it looks like it's part of the pedal bracket which might be a bit of a pain to change
Easiest way to get wires through to the engine ECU is to drill a hole. Lift the bonnet and look at the driver's side leaf-store, under/to the side of the windscreen, behind the strut mount. Slap a grommet in if you're feeling cautious, push wires from the engine bay side, and do it before they're connected to anything

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Siemens ECU Cruise Control?
The pedal brackets were like that on the 306 (I think it was) forum that I was looking at where someone had run a wire from the ecu to the pedal - there were pictures and everyfink.
It's doing it neatly I worry about. Oh, and slashing open one of the big ecu connectors

FWIW, there's a suitable gromit hidden under the top edge of the drivers footwell carpet, next to the steering column.

Thats it doggy you gave me the picture a while back, i didn't want to say i couldn't remember if it was you or captain jack.Doggy wrote:My that's spooky Frank - looks just like my prehistoric laptop you've got there!![]()

Sorry about the picture i clicked on the wrong link it should have been this:

and there is indeed a large grommet in the drivers footwell, a lot of wires going through it and a screwdriver can usually make way for more to go through, just watch it doesn't pierce any of the wires, and it seems to leave the screwdriver covered in sticky sealant so its best to use one you don't like, once in the engine bay you can keep the wires tied along one of the harnesses, although the ecu is on the drivers side so not as important.

Yeah trying to get rid of it. Unfortunatley although it's 100% mechanically sound, it looks like a shed! Puts people off. Only wantr £800 for it with 12 months tax, new timing belt, wheel bearings, steering rack, clutch, brakes etc etc.FarmerPug wrote:have you got pictures of it?
