Retrofit fit an MFD in a D8 LX

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Retrofit fit an MFD in a D8 LX

Post by gumby6371 »

Just a quick one...nudge, nudge, wink, wink....

I'm thinking about fitting an MFD in my LX purely for the radio display, so I can easily see the station when I'm flicking through with the column stalk.
Not bothered about external temp or MPG readout just the radio.

Assuming the connector is already there (not checked yet) is it just a case of pop the little storage slot out and plug it in?

Thanks Mike,

I've currently got the standard radio/tape that came with the car, I'll give it a go now the evenings are getting lighter. If it doesn't work it's no biggy, I'll just take it out again.

It should just work & if you fancy fiddling with a soldering iron you can get the temp & trip functions working as well! 8)

just tried it and it doesn't pick up the radio. Tried all 4 positions on the little adjuster on the side. Is it a cd only thing ? If anyone has a working standard cd for a d8 with code i might be interested
